  • Psalm 34

    1. I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

    2. My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.

    3. O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.

    4. I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

    5. They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.

    6. This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.

    7. The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

    8. O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

    9. O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.

    10. The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.

    11. Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.

    12. What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?

    13. Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.

    14. Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

    15. The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.

    16. The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

    17. The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.

    18. The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

    19. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

    20. He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.

    21. Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.

    22. The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate!

    God's Word is such a precious gift!

  • Lots of pictures I've been wanting to post!

    There have been several pictures over the past several months that I have really wanted to share but just haven't taken the time to.  Since I'm off work for an entire week I decided to take a little time and post some of them. I must warn you, there are a lot but there could have been more. I narrowed it down... some! : )

    Back in October my second beautiful niece was born to my brother and sister-in-law. Arianna Elise Polkinghorn! Isn't she beautiful? Just like her mommy!

    What a sweet little family!

    Nearing the end of November while driving home from our churches Thanksgiving dinner we were hit by another driver and our once beautiful black truck was completely totalled in a heartbeat! The engine was actually knocked off it's block and into the cab of the truck! Thinking back on it even now I tremble and get a knot in my stomach. It was the scariest thing that has ever happened to me/us. One moment we were driving along just minutes away from home talking and laughing together and then it was... WHAT"S WRONG WITH ME? Why can't I breathe or pick my head up off of the back of the seat? I taste blood! I can't think straight at all! This hurts! I hurt so bad all over! Michael was talking to me but I couldn't respond! It was terrible! I really thought I might be dying! It hurt SO bad! Have you ever seen a bird who has just flown into a window? If it is still alive it just lays there unable to move panting and shaking in shock! That is exactly what it was like for me! Those of you who have been in a car wreck know exactly what I'm talking about! It's horrible! But... God was right there with us all along and we walked ( well I was carried everywhere that night, I literally couldn't have walked!) away from that accident without serious injury! Praise be to God!

    Moving on...

    That was two days before Thanksgiving and boy did we have a lot to be thankful for! We made it to Mamaws on Thursday and then to my parent on Saturday to celebrate with them from our spot on the couch! : ) I was on pain killers every four hours for at least three days! At my parents Michael got to meet Arrianna for the first time!

    This is four days after the accident. It hurt to do anything but sit still on the couch but I wasn't going to let anything keep me from holding my little niece for the second time ever!

    In early December it SNOWED IN TEXAS!

    We set up our Christmas tree that day! When else would we get a chance to set up our tree while it snowed outside?

    For Christmas this year my side of the family broke tradition and did not spend Christmas Eve at Grandma's! Gasp! Instead we had it at my oldest sisters house. It was so much fun. Jackie and Jason were wonderful hosts and their house is lovely!

    Elaina and I. She is so sweet to love her Aunt Amy so much even though we hardly ever get to see each other.

    Our great gifts from my parents!

    Sadly I don't have any pictures from Christmas at Mammaws but we had a wonderful time! : )

    Our 2nd Valentine's together as a married couple was even better then the first! Not because of more delicious food, sweeter cards or greater gifts or even more time spent together but because our love for each other has more then doubled since then! : ) Even so...here are a few pictures of the food and my gifts! lol

    Mommy did her hair! I don't know how Jackie got her to hold still enough to do this!

    samnadam

    My two handsome older brothers. Sam and Adam. I miss Sam so much! He joined the Marine Coup when I was a little eleven year old girl. We've seen him on short visits here and there but it's just not the same. As of right now I have not seen or talked to him in over three years! We texted each other over Thanksgiving though and that was so nice.

    Last but definitely not least.

    IMG_0025

    Our precious dog Jake! He died not too long ago and we still miss him everyday!

    He was so pretty!

    Ok, that's it. Thanks for sticking with me this long. I know that was a lot of pictures but like I said I had been meaning to post them individually over the past several months. I feel all caught up now and that feels great.

    Y'all have a wonderful Sunday night!

  • God sent His son, they called Him, Jesus;
    He came to love, heal and forgive;
    He lived and died to buy my pardon,
    An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives!

    Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
    Because He lives, all fear is gone;
    Because I know He holds the future,
    And life is worth the living,
    Just because He lives!

    How sweet to hold a newborn baby,
    And feel the pride and joy he gives;
    But greater still the calm assurance:
    This child can face uncertain days because He Lives!

    Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
    Because He lives, all fear is gone;
    Because I know He holds the future,
    And life is worth the living,
    Just because He lives!

    And then one day, I'll cross the river,
    I'll fight life's final war with pain;
    And then, as death gives way to victory,
    I'll see the lights of glory and I'll know He lives!

    Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
    Because He lives, all fear is gone;
    Because I know He holds the future,
    And life is worth the living,

    Just because He lives!

    I've been singing this song all day. I think it might be one of the greatest hymns ever! At least to me! : )

  • Zared

    I am so thankful that our Heavenly Father is with us always because life can be so very hard! Zared went home to be with Jesus this morning. Please pray especially for his wife April and for his family and friends as we grieve. I want to cry out why but I keep reminding myself that God knows best! Thank you for your prayers!

  • Please Pray!

    Dear Friends,

    Please take a moment to pray for Zared. Zared is the older brother of one of my very dear friends! Yesterday while working on a roofing job he fell through the roof landing on the concrete floor below onto his head! He was life flighted to Memorial Herman Hospital in Houston. He is unconscious and heavily sedated with a breathing tube inserted. At this point we do not know if he will survive. If he does make it through he will have permanent brain damage. He is 23 years old and was just married this past May. His wife's name is April. My heart is broken for this dear family. They are so precious to me and my family. I know that God is in control and that He loves this family even more than I do but this just hurts so bad! I can barely even think about it without crying. Please pray! Thank you!
